Houston Marathon and Half Marathon this weekend

It's that time of year again - the Chevron Houston Marathon and Aramco Half Marathon will take place this Sunday, January 15th. Over 27,000 participants will be running the event, about half running the Full Marathon and half doing the Half Marathon.

The event brings millions of dollars and people from all over the world to the city of Houston. In addition, since the program’s inception in 1995, more than $24 million has been raised to benefit various charities. For each of the past six years, the Run for a Reason Program has surpassed two million dollars.

The race start for both the full and half marathon is on Congress at San Jacinto Street. The finish line is on Lamar at Crawford Street. The following streets will be closed on Sunday, January 15, 2017, starting at 6:00 a.m. All lanes will be closed unless otherwise noted.
